Are there any sharks in the Black Sea?
This question interests many people today who are going to rest on the Black Sea. Especially after the recent tragic events that have occurred, both in foreign resorts, and in our country in the Far East. Shark attacks on tourists are increasingly mutilating and killing people. So there are these terrible predators in our Black Sea? Should we be afraid of them on vacation? To answer this question it is necessary to turn first to the history of the sea.
Black sea for millions of years, during which time it connects to other seas – the Caspian and the Aral Sea. Geophysics Specialists say that when upon a time there was a vast ocean called Tethys, in the depths of which there was a wide variety of marine life as a single-celled, and huge sea monsters. Twenty million years ago formed a large lake, it was the Black Sea. The water in it was very fresh, because it had nothing to do with the ocean. But after a strong earthquake happened as a result of which it is connected to the Bosphorus Strait and the Strait of Dardanelles with an interesting name. The water in the lake has become very sharp salt and all of its inhabitants, which were not adapted to such conditions, were killed. So, it is considered that at this time appeared in the Black Sea hydrogen sulfide and organic deposits formed from the remains of flora and fauna, who died during this period.
This is the  Sea – the lake was completely dead, not suitable for the existence of any life. Still, one of the species of bacteria could survive in it – this anaerobic sulfur bacteria. So we came and to you, our Black Sea area which was at that time more than 400 thousand square kilometers and a depth of more than 2 thousand meters. The water in the sea was several times fresher than the Mediterranean, as the narrow straits that connect them, it could not provide enough salt water from the ocean. And she that are essential to marine life.
Now we will be able, on the basis of the above, to answer this question. The most important condition because of which the shark can not be spread in the Black Sea – is salted water. Of course in theory, they can swim in the Mediterranean Sea, but it is so far away that it is unlikely they will want to go here, and the water for these toothy monsters are not too tasty. Since they are always in search of food, and they eat a lot, and they need solid food supply, our sea does not suit them, may be too little profit. After the Black Sea flora and fauna are poor enough to satisfy their appetite. Therefore, we can confidently say that the appearance of our sea shark is rather a series of science fiction.
Although the two sharks all – still live in the Black Sea. Shark-spiny dogfish shark cat. You have realized that it is absolutely not the predators, which we are so afraid. The first type of shark – a native of the Black Sea, and the second type – a native of the Mediterranean. Naturally, for the person they are not so dangerous, though, and they have teeth, but they do not rush people. However, for example spiny dogfish is a threat to human health. The fact is that sharks – have katrana spike, with strong serrations on the fin, which it can severely injure a person and on the injection site of the fin is rapidly developing inflammation. But the bite itself happens if strongly disturb katrana. It should be immediately after the bite to see a doctor to provide effective assistance.
